Love Heart Blanket
This is a great pattern for beginners who want to play with knit and purl. The blankets knitted in squares with a heart pattern on each square. You are knitting purl within the knit stitches. There are so many different shades you could choose to knit this blanket, or you can keep it very natural and only use three shades of the undyed Bluefaced Leicester DK in ecru, light brown and brown.
You can get quite addicted to this pattern, playing around with different yarns and shades to give to my friends and family to suit their personalities or interiors!
For the naturals blanket I used:

MY DESIGN IDEAS AND ADVICE
The cotton I used is called Creative Aran, however it isn’t a true aran and is in fact knitted on 4mm needles and has a thick double knit tension. This might seem confusing however it’s quite common with cotton yarns. (if you live near Skipton or want to visit for a holiday do pop into my Purl &Jane studio and ask me to explain more)

I have also designed an Oddments Crochet Cushion which uses the small oddments of yarn that are left when you have finished knitting the Love Hearts Blanket.
