Louloudi (the Greek word for flower) is a crescent-shaped shawl embellished with garlands of daisy stitch that create a beautiful texture and perfectly utilize the color changes of a pretty variegated yarn. Knit from the top down, Louloudi is shaped into a crescent with simple increases on every row. Short rows create small slices of Stockinette between the strands of daisy chains and create an overall asymmetrical shawl. A picot bind off finishes things off. Taking two skeins of fingering weight yarn, either in one color or two, Louloudi is a light-but-warm and striking piece that will keep away the chill as you take a walk through the wildflowers.

Specific yarn requirements:
Inner Yarn Zen Superwash Fingering (100% superwash merino wool; 400 yds/ 366 m per 100g); 2 skeins in Lupine
Or, 800 yds/ 594 m of a fingering weight yarn. If using two colors, you will need 400 yds/ 366 m of each.

Needles:
US 6 (4 mm) circular needle, at least 32”/ 80 cm long, or size needed to obtain gauge

Gauge:
17 sts & 27 rows = 4”/ 10 cm in Stockinette and Daisy Stitch pattern after blocking
Meeting this exact gauge is not crucial, but any major differences will affect the size of the finished shawl as well as yarn requirements.
