Long Skinny Travelling Scarf
June 2016: This pattern is no longer available.
September 2008
This is my current travelling project and because it is only a minor adaptation of a stitch pattern -- the Spiral and Eyelet Panel from Volume 3 of the Harmony Stitch Guides -- it’s free.
It is only 24 stitches wide and uses an 8 row repeat pattern making for a quick knit.
The scarf is only about 5” 13cm wide. I was looking for a chic accessory that would bring a little warmth without bulk during the blustery days that are starting.
We are currently working the main segment of the scarf.
The pattern was originally published on my blog, Shifting Stitches, in segments but technology has changed so much in the intervening years that the charts had to be removed.
There is no gauge listed here because you can really use any yarn / needle size you like. I plan to knit until I use up my one skein of terracotta yarn. Your scarf may be longer, wider, shorter, narrower than mine but they will all be beautiful. If you like the pattern detail, choose a smooth yarn.
Sorry, but at this time there is no printed copy of the entire pattern.
Hope you enjoy it!
