This is a pattern for a small otter about 6 ½ inches high when knitted in worsted weight yarn. It also includes instructions for the crayfish shirt and clamdigger pants. Gauge and yarn weight don’t really matter as long as you get a dense fabric so that the stuffing doesn’t show through. Thicker yarn will give you a larger otter and thinner yarn will yield a smaller otter. I’ve included a lot of pictures to make the pattern easier to follow. Errata: The stitch count for line 10 of the leg directions on page 6 was incorrect. The stitch count should be 10 not 9. The directions were correct, only the stitch count was wrong. Updated pattern on 9/15/25 is corrected.
