Little Lopapeysa
A lopapeysa (singular) or lopapeysur (plural) is the traditional Icelandic sweater worked in the round with a patterned yoke, using the unique and incredibly warm Icelandic wool.
If you have lots of Létt Lopi scraps left over from previous human-sized lopapeysa projects then this is the pattern for you. Quick and fun to knit up, this little lopapeysa has a finished height of 9cm (3.5”) and a chest width of 7.5cm (3”) so it would make a sweet little gift, keyring or Christmas decoration.
This little lopapeysa is constructed in the same way as an adult sized one, so knitting up one of these would be a great way to quickly practice new techniques such as knitting in the round, colour work and grafting stitches. You could even knit one up to test colour combinations for a future human-sized lopapeysur!
