Little Humpty
Little Humpty is quite the adventurer. As well as that infamous encounter with a wall (which shall remain nameless), he has been all over the peaks of the Lake District. He scaled the biggest slides in Battersea Park, and walked the plank on a genuine pirate ship! Right now he is planning to set the world record on book climbing, one little book at a time. It’s lucky his flying cap is there to slow his next fall!
The instructions are given in US crochet terms, with written and charts for the colourwork sections and a written plain body option. There are plenty of step-by-step photos detailing how to make the pieces and finish the toy. When made with DK weight yarn (sample made in Paintbox Yarns Cotton DK) and 3.50mm hook the finished Humpty will measure about 18cm/7in tall.
You’ll need to know how to:
・make a Magic Ring
・work in a round
・single crochet
・increase/decrease
・chain stitch
・slip stitch
・half double crochet
・double crochet
・change colours within a round
You will need the following materials:
Yarn: Paintbox Yarns Cotton DK - 100% cotton - 50g/125m/137yds
1 ball of each colour: Light Champagne 403, Dolphin Blue 437, Duck Egg Blue 436.
Small amounts of Blush Pink 454 and Pillar Red 415.
Black embroidery thread.
3.5mm crochet hook
10mm Black Safety Eyes
Toy Stuffing
(optional) Musical rattle insert and weighted plastic pellets in a fabric pouch.
