The Lipstick sweater is a sweater with a chic and classic look, with a little retro touch. The model is designed quite crop and has a separation at the bottom of the sweater. The sleeves are quite long and flared at the bottom and separated at the wrists. You have the option of knitting a folded or short funnel neck for a cozy and warm sweater.

Other options for choosing yarn: a fingering yarn double with mohair, or a sport weight yarn or DK which obtains the gauge or 1150 (1250) 1300 (1350) 1400 (1450) 1500 (1550) 1600 meters of yarn. Note that yardage may vary with DK wool choice, if you choose to double strands, you’ll need that meterage for each yarn.

SIZE GUIDE
The Lipstick Sweater is constructed with approximately 15 cm 6 inches of positive ease, which is 15 cm 6 inches wider than your bust circumference. If you have a large chest, I advise you to take the top of your bust as a measurement.
Sizes XS (S) M (L) XL (2XL) 3XL (4XL) 5XL are therefore designed for a bust measurement of 76-81 (83-86) 88-93 (96-99) 106-111 (119- 124) 127-132 (142-149) 152-157 cm 30-31 (32-34) 35-37 (38-39) 42-44 (47-49) 50-52 (56-59) 60-62 inches], for a completed sweater with a circumference of 93 (97) 104 (110) 125 (134) 140 (160) 169 cm 37 (39) 42 (44) 50 (53) 56 (64) 68 inches

Note that the sleeves of this sweater have very little positive ease. Refer to the diagram below to ensure the best fit.

SWEATER CONSTRUCTION
The first step will be to construct the back and shoulders of the sweater with “raglan” type increases at the shoulder line. We will start with the number of stitches on the upper back of the sweater and then knit the back flat, making increases to form the shoulders which will be continuous sleeve type. A number of stitches will be added to form the front, then the body will be knitted in the round and finished with a separate edge of stockinette for the front and back for which we will create a folded hem. Then, the neck edge will be picked up and knitted in stockinette stitch with smaller needles, then folded towards the outside on which we will perform a finishing detail. The sleeve stitches are taken up at the armhole level, then knitted partly in the round and partly flat to create the separation of the bottom of the sleeve. The bottom of the sleeve will be finished with an I-cord type edge.

Le Lipstick Sweater est un chandail au look à la fois chic et classique, avec des manches lui conférant une petite touche rétro. Le modèle est conçu assez court au niveau du corps et est muni d’une séparation au bas du chandail. Les manches sont assez longues et évasées au bas et séparées au niveau des poignets. Vous avez l’option de tricoter un col cheminée replié ou court pour un chandail douillet et chaud.

Notez que les manches de ce chandail ont très peu d’aisance positive. Référez-vous au schéma plus bas pour vous assurer du meilleur ajustement.

EXPLICATION DE LA CONSTRUCTION DU CHANDAIL
La première étape sera de construire le dos et les épaules du chandail avec des augmentations de type « raglan » sur la ligne d’épaule. Nous allons débuter par le nombre de mailles du haut du dos du chandail et par la suite tricoter à plat le dos en faisant des augmentations pour former les épaules qui seront de type marteau. Un nombre de mailles sera ajouté pour former le devant, puis le corps sera alors tricoté en rond et se terminera avec une bande de jersey séparée pour le devant et le dos et pour lesquels nous créeront un ourlet replié. Le tout sera tricoté à plat. Le col sera remonté, puis tricoté en jersey avec des plus petites aiguilles, puis replié vers l’extérieur sur lequel nous viendrons exécuter un détail de finition. Les mailles des manches sont reprises au niveau des emmanchures, puis tricotées en partie en rond et en partie à plat pour ainsi créer la séparation du bas de la manche. La finition du bas de la manche se fera par un rabat de type I-cord.
