It’s all about the linen stitch!

This shawl uses linen stitch to blend three colours into each other, to obtain a gradient-like effect. A simple lace and stripe detail forms the end of the shawl. Starting from just a few stitches, the shawl increases into a long asymmetrical triangle shape that is easy to wear.

Obtaining the gauge listed in the pattern is not essential. The pattern sample was knitted at a tight gauge, but for a shawl with more drape you may prefer a looser gauge. Instructions are included in the pattern for modifying your stitch counts based on your gauge.

The pattern is written for three colours of fingering weight yarn (300-400m of each colour), however it could easily be adapted to different yarn weights and/or amounts. Simply increase or decrease the width of each section according to the amount and type of yarn you have available.

This pattern contains both written instructions and charts.
