Lindsay's Perfect Mitts
Description
Lindsay told me one day that she was desperate. She wanted simple, fingerless mitts that were ribbed the whole way and that had a separate thumb gusset. Although they were probably out there—somewhere!—she could not find any.
I told her I loved the idea and would design them.
When she made the first pair, she proclaimed them perfect. I had to admit that she had come up with a wonderful suggestion. Try them. I bet you will agree.
Because of the ribbing, this pattern works for yarn that is sport weight, DK weight, or light-worsted weight.
Skills taught in this pattern:
- How to make a thumb gusset
- How to pick up stitches
- How to do a make-one
Really Clear Skill Rating:
Level 2: You’re becoming fairly independent with knitting. You are comfortable with knitting, purling, and perhaps a few basic stitch patterns. You might need an explanation for a technique here and there rather than having the entire pattern being step-by-step.
