Original instructions call for 15 grams of Nr. 200 crochet thread and Stahlstricknadeln Nr. 0 (old German size of fine steel knitting needle).

For each corner, cast on 8 stitches and follow chart 16A, purling back on the even rows.

For the edging, cast on 21 stitches and follow chart 16B, purling the even side rows.
