Top down sock with stranded colorwork, duplicate stitch and embroidery

“La Dame a la Licorne”, a series of medieval tapestries, depicts a lady and a unicorn in a field of red surrounded by flowers. A banner at the top of the final tapestry reads “a mon seul desir”, to my only desire. It is a mystery what is happening in the picture. Has the lady tamed the unicorn? These charming socks have a banner at the top proclaiming “a mon seul desir” and flowers on a field of red. Peeking out from the heel is a rabbit, perhaps he know the answer to the mystery.
