Levamentum Blanket
The Levamentum Blanket was designed with Charity Crochet (www.knitforpeace.org.uk) in mind - Levamentum is Latin for
’unbending relief, comfort and solace’
which seemed perfect for a blanket which does exactly that!
The ‘recipe’ means that you can make the blanket from any weight of yarn, from sock to chunky (lace might take you a lifetime!), with however much stash you have to play with.
It is quick to work up, great for stash-busting, ideal for beginners but is interesting enough for experienced crocheters too.
It is worked from corner to corner, on the diagonal, and the use of back loops only throughout creates a lovely reversible texture.
The edges are very straight and sturdy enough not to require a border, but feel free to add one if preferred.
Please share your projects - the more people see them, the more people will see the pattern an hopefully, more people will benefit from charity crochet.
With love,
pw x
