Let it sparkle shawl
Description
The Let It Sparkle shawl is a very soft and light triangle shawl worked with a mohair blend and glitter yarn.
In order for the very thin glitter yarn to create a good contrast, it is recommended to use a mohair blend and not a kid silk mohair. This way the glitter yarn can create a beautiful contrast without the mohair becoming too dominant.
By following the pattern, you will have a scarf measuring approximately 110 x 55 cm (43.5 x 21.5”) but you can easily adapt it by adjusting the number of repeats of each pattern block, making it thus longer or shorter.
Needle size & materials:
2.5 mm (US 1.5) circular needles, 60-80 cm (16”) in length
tapestry needle
SIZE
One size: 110 x 55 cm (43.5 x 21.5”)
TENSION/ GAUGE:
10 x 10 cm (4 x 4”) = 28-32 sts x 30-34 rows in stockinette stitch on 2.5 mm (US 1.5) needle
The gauge is only an indication. Any lace weight yarn would work, as long as the gauge fits well the gauge of the metallic thread. Preferably swatch the yarn beforehand in order to adjust the needle size, if needed, for the best outcome, especially in regards to the design.
