A kind of echo from past projects. A blanket of a jacket!

Construction
Worked from the top down with raglan increases. Increases are also made to shape the V-neck. After the yoke is complete, sleeves and body are worked separately. Stitches are picked up along the front edges for the button bands, which are worked in one continuous piece.

Size Guide
This garment is designed with generous ease — it should feel as much like a blanket as it does a jacket. Compare the width and length to a garment you already love before choosing your size.

Yarn
A fairly bulky yarn (Pickles Cozy) is used as the main color throughout the jacket to tie all the scrap yarns together.
See “Choosing the right scrap yarn” for tips on combining yarns.

Pickles Cozy
110 m / 120 yds / 50 g

Choosing the right scrap yarn
You can use 3 strands of fairly thick yarn (worsted weight) throughout the jacket.
In my version, I sometimes used 3 thick strands, and other times combined thinner yarns to achieve the same weight. I always held one main color in the same yarn and colorway for a more cohesive look, plus one fuzzy strand, and then whatever other scraps I had on hand.

Main Color (MC)
1 strand in the same color held throughout the entire jacket
Pickles Cozy | 110 m / 120 yds / 50 g

Alternatives:
Hip Wool | 80 m / 87 yds / 50 g
Rauma Fivel | 100 m / 109 yds / 50 g
Rauma Vams | 80 m / 87 yds / 50 g
Rauma Puno | 110 m / 120 yds / 50 g

Contrast Color 1 – fuzzy yarn
To soften the color transitions between scrap yarns, it’s helpful to include a fuzzy strand.
I consistently used 1 strand that matched the thickness of the MC, or combined 2 thinner yarns to achieve the same weight. I varied the color of this strand throughout.

Alternatives | Single strand:
Pickles Big Fuzz | 100 m / 109 yds / 50 g
Rauma Tjukk Mohair | 100 m / 109 yds / 50 g
Hip Mohair | 110 m / 120 yds / 50 g

Alternatives | Held double:
Pickles Soft Fuzz | 195 m / 213 yds / 50 g
Rauma Alpakka Lin | 175 m / 191 yds / 50 g
Drops Brushed Alpaca Silk | 140 m / 153 yds / 25 g

Contrast Color 2
You can use one or more strands that together match the thickness of the main color.
