L'Arbre Mitts
I am first and foremost a yarn-driven designer. Since I’ve spent most of my career promoting specific yarns for the companies that have employed me, I have grown quite used to having very clear parameters. When a yarn like Road to China crosses my path, I tend to reel a bit, but when the “blank slate” jitters subside, I turn to my trusty stitch dictionaries.
I fell in love with the simplicity of the textured stitch I chose for the accessories featured here, and I couldn’t help but notice its resemblance to trees. Whenever I move to a new place my first priority is finding a forest where I can go for long hikes year-round. I see
the same calm, hallowed beauty in a skein of luxury fibers, expertly spun and dyed, so this pairing is an homage to that parallelism. Shown with with L’Arbre Hat.
