This pattern has several aliases:
Inarin kintaat (from Mary Olki)
Lapinlapaset (in Suuri käsityölehti)
Lapin lapaset (in Taito)
Rovaniemi-kintaat (in Käspaikka)
Mary Olki has two separate yet very alike patterns for Inarin kintaat and Rovaniemen kinnas. In general she names the colorful patterns Lappalaiskintaat.

Kintaat (sg. kinnas) and lapaset (sg. lapanen) both mean mittens in different dialects of Finnish.

Also available Lapin sukat sock pattern and Inarin myssy hat pattern with same stranded pattern as used in the cuffs of the mittens. Sock pattern name is “Koristeellinen nilkkasukka” in Mary Olki books.
