Lakewalker Socks
Lois McMaster Bujold’s Sharing Knife quartet features the Lakewalkers, a tribe of woodland hunter-sorcerers. The stitch patterns on either side of these unisex socks represent knives and water, both important themes in the books. They also resemble the chapter-heading decorations from the second and third books, Legacy and Passage.
The socks are worked from the cuff down in worsted weight yarn, sturdy and thick to keep your feet warm on a hike – or, if you’re a Lakewalker, on a long patrol.
NOTES:
This pattern is written as needle agnostic. Work using your preferred type of needle for small circumferences in the round – dpns, two circulars, magic loop, etc.
None of the sizes require a full two balls of the yarn listed. The smallest size uses approximately 120 yards, and the largest size approximately 343 yards.
