This pattern requires double knitting, instructions for which are included in the pattern. If you can do the knit stitch and the purl stitch, you can double knit!

Size information

  • newborn: to fit head circumference of 14.25”
  • infant: to fit head circumference of 16”
  • toddler: to fit head circumference of 17.75”
  • child: to fit head circumference of 19.5”
  • small adult: to fit head circumference of 21 1/3”
  • medium adult: to fit head circumference of 23”
  • large adult: to fit head circumference of 24 7/8”
  • x-large adult: to fit head circumference of 26 2/3”

Yarn requirements

One ball each of two contrasting colours. If you have partial balls or want to use a different yarn, you’ll need approximately:

  • newborn: 60 yards
  • infant: 70 yards
  • toddler: 80 yards
  • child: 95 yards
  • small adult: 110 yards
  • medium adult: 125 yards
  • large adult: 155 yards
  • x-large adult: 170 yards
