This gentle airy triangular Estonian lace shawl is started with knitted cast on from bottom of the shawl and knitted up with decreasing stitches by sides and center.
This shawl includes 2067 nupps!

Sample
Pale gray shawl measurements are 230 x 99 cm; knitted by main needles 3 mm. Nupps are created from 9 strands of yarn.

Yarn
Any cobweb or lace yarn is good for this shawl. But know that heavier yarn (100 g=1200 m, or 100 g=1000 m) needs larger needles, more yarn and the shawl’s measurement may increase as well.

Needles
Sharp pointed 60 cm circular needles 2,5 mm (US 1½) - 3 mm (US 2½). Choose the needle size which is the best on your personal knitting tension for lace.
60 cm circular needles 4,5-5,5 mm (US 7-9) for cast on.
1 DPN needle for 3-needles-bind-off.
Removable stitch marker for middle st.

In this pattern gauge isn’t so important, but you could swatch the edge lace pattern repeat to make sure the lace will not be too loose.

In this pattern there are used (and described) some decreases with nupps, so this pattern will suit for lace knitter who has some experience of Estonian lace knitting.
