Kosekofte Hat
This hat is designed to go with both the Kosekofte cardigan and Kosekofte pullover (pictured above, released shortly after the hat pattern). The pattern includes tips for how to modify it to have a lice-dot-pattern and stripes so it matches the pullover more closely.
Yarn
Susan Crawford Excelana DK (100% British wool, 125 m / 136 yds, 50 g). 250 m main colour and 50 m contrast colour.
Alternatives: Sandnes Peer Gynt, Hillesvåg Sol or Tinde, Rauma 3 tråd Strikkegarn, Blacker DK yarns, etc.
You will get the best results by using non-superwash, DK weight, sheep’s wool yarn.
Needles
Gauge-size needles to work both hat circumference and crown in the round, and a spare in same size for folded brim.
The sample was made using 4 mm (US 6) for stockinette and 4.5 mm (US 7) for stranded colourwork.
Gauge
(22, 24, 22) sts x 30 (28) rnds = 10 cm / 4” in stockinette stitch (stranded colourwork).
