Knotty
APOLOGIES this pattern is not currently available. The original is buried on a hard drive that is currently in a shipping container on a boat in the middle of the Hudson Bay. When our move is complete sometime early in November I will try to dig it out. Sorry for the delay!
Scroll down for erratta.
A ribbed sock with gnarls up the legs and on the foot that are reminiscent of a gnarled old tree, accomplished with different types of increases and decreases in a ribbed pattern.
Instructions are included for both a fine fingering like Ella Rae Lace Merino and more typical larger-gauge sock yarns.
Error: The following abbreviations are not explained in the pattern:
PFB - Purl Front Back: Purl into the front and back of this stitch (like KFB, but with purls)
PFKB - Purl Front Knit Back: Purl into the front of this stitch and knit into the back of it before removing it from the left needle.
Update on smaller size: the smaller size was test knit and the notes are in the comments.
