A mosaic pattern in three colors creates an opulent fabric for this cardigan styled with a hint of Asian influence. Pieces are worked flat and seamed for a fitted, tailored silhouette. The mosaic pattern makes for easy colorwork, with only one color used per row.

Mosaic colorwork is not as thick as stranded colorwork because the little floats on the wrong side occur only where a stitch is slipped. For this chart almost 75% of the stitches have no floats, so this garment in worsted weight yarn is lighter than it would be if worked with the same yarn in a stranded pattern.
