"Kiss me in a snowstorm"
Design and construction
This super warm merino hat gives extra coziness with tucks and double layer knitting. It is knit from the tip of a crown to the other tip of a crown. Starting with a central cast on, stitches are increased until the necessary number of stitches is reached. After the main part is finished with the brim and tucks the inside will be worked “backwards”.
Sizes
Size 1: 54 cm / 21.25 in
Size 2: 56.25 cm / 22.25 in
Size 3: 58.5 cm / 23 in
Size 4: 60.75 cm / 24 in
Size 5: 63 cm / 25 in
Yarn and contrast colour
1 skein of the original Rauwerk No. 2 yarn is enough to knit the hat in any size.
For the contrasting tucks some additional colour is needed - choose your option:
Option 1: Use your MC and hold it together with a strand of silk mohair yarn in contrasting colour(s). Per tuck 11 m are needed.
Option 2: Use 1, 2, 3, 4 or even 5 contrasting colours of the main yarn (Here: RAUWERK No. 2).
Per tuck 11 m / 12 yds = 11 g are needed.
Option 3: Add a silk mohair to the contrast colours of option 2.
The colours of the tuck definitely change the overall impression of your hat – so enjoy this effect and play with shades to
create your own and very personal style of hat.
