Kekomi Cowl
Another one for my karate instructor mum. Last year for Christmas I knitted her a Mae Geri scarf(Mae Geri and Kekomi are karate kicks!) which she loves so I’ve made her something similar this year. This is a very simple lace pattern using big needles so it’s an incredibly quick, but impressive, knit. Perfect gift material! The yarn used is my handspun baby camel and silk. It’s a lovely choice if you’re a handspinner, baby camel down is much cheaper than cashmere but feels just as soft. I’ve recommended a commercially available yarn as a perfectly suitable substitute though.
Yarn: Debbie Bliss Alpaca Silk Aran, 3 skeins = 195m in total.
Needles: 6mm / US 10 60cm circular needle
Gauge: 15 stitches and 20 rows = 4” in stocking stitch.
Dimensions: 9” x 54”
Extras: One stitch marker
