Katerina the Ballerina
Meet Katerina, a little ballerina who dreams of dancing on the big stage some day. Practicing takes a lot of time and hard work, of course, but she loves nothing more than getting dressed up and twirling about in her tutu.
She can be made in any yarn and hook combination you want. Just be certain that the fabric is firm enough that stuffing does not show through. My Katerina is made in worsted weight yarn using 3 colors:
Sample 1
- Color 1 (Skin): Lion Brand Skein Tones in Almond (70 yards)
- Color 2 (Hair): Lion Brand Skein Tones in Adobe (50 yards)
- Color 3 (Tutu): Lion Brand Basic Stitch in Beryl (70 yards)
Sample 2
- Color 1 (Skin): Lion Brand Skein Tones in Cedarwood (70 yards)
- Color 2 (Hair): Lion Brand Skein Tones in Cocoa (50 yards)
- Color 3 (Tutu): Lion Brand Basic Stitch in Soft Pink (70 yards)
Katerina the Ballerina is an intermediate-level pattern. Skills you will need include single crochet, slip stitches, increases and decreases, color changes, working in the top and bottom of a chain stitch, and crocheting in the front loops of a finished piece.
The pattern is 12-pages long and and is written in US crochet terminology. It contains plenty of progress photos to help you stitch this darling dancer!
