PATTERN NOTES
Kamelia is a charming open-front cardigan that features a lovely shawl collar and shoulder seams that are elegantly shifted toward the back. This design utilizes a modified version of English Tailored shoulder shaping, often referred to as “fully fashioned.”
Knitted seamlessly from the top down, Kamelia begins with the back part of the collar. Once that’s complete, you’ll pick up the back stitches from the collar to shape the upper back. After finishing the upper back piece, stitches are picked up along the shoulders for the front sections, which are shaped through a series of increases and decreases.
All parts come together beautifully, working in one piece down to the underarm. At this point, the sleeves are placed on hold while you continue knitting the body until it reaches the desired length. Once the body is finished, simply return the sleeve stitches to your needles and work them in rounds from the top down.
