Junction Mittens
The mittens are worked in an all-over brioche pattern designed to showcase the beauty of speckled or tonal variegated yarns. While the stitch pattern looks like cables, the pattern is worked using a technique of knitting 3 stitches out of 3 stitches.
The mittens are worked in the round from the cuff to the top.
Sizes and Measurements
S, M and L with a finished hand circumference of approximately 15.5 (18.5, 21.5) cm 6 (7.25, 8.5)” Hand length is adjustable.
Please note that brioche stitch creates a very lofty fabric that stretches considerably.
Material
About 60 g (222 m 243 yds) of fingering weight yarn with a yardage of approximately 366 m (400 yds) per 100 g
Used in the sample: Malabrigo Yarn Mechita (384 m 420 yds / 100g; 100% Merino wool) in Sirenas
2.5 mm / US size 1.5 DPNs or circular needle(s), for your preferred way to knit in the round
1 stitch marker, darning needle
Gauge
26 sts / 42 rows = 10 cm/4”measured over Junction pattern on larger needles, unblocked
