Joy Scarf

The Joy Scarf is the little accessory you simply cannot do without in your wardrobe. It’s the scarf that – summer and winter – gives you that cozy feeling of warmth. On top of that, it hardly takes up any space, so of course it’s the one that always lives in your bag, ready for when you suddenly need a touch of extra comfort.

To mark ‘World Mental Health Day’ 2025 we are donating 15 DKK / 2,5 USD to Mental Health Foundation Denmark for every Joy Scarf pattern we sell in 2025. We want to support the Mental Health Foundation in their mission to ensure that people going through difficult times in their lives are met with understanding and receive the help and guidance they need. In time.

There is plenty of research showing that knitting has been proven to reduce stress and anxiety by inducing a meditative state through its rhythmic, repetitive motions - and therefore we feel it is natural to support Mental Health Foundation Denmark’s important work. Joy scarf is a small and easy knitting project that is easy to knit and good for getting in the meditative zone.

Knit it in all your favorite colors, so you always have a scarf to match your outfits. We’ve knitted it in our luxurious Önling No 2, a super soft and airy merino yarn. The scarf is incredibly easy to style, as it looks the same on both the right and wrong side.

Designed by Inge-Lis Holst for Önling.

Procedure
The scarf is worked back and forth from tip to tip, with edges and a center panel worked in double knitting. The beginning and end of the scarf are worked in double knitting.
Stitches are increased around the center panel until the desired width is reached, after which you knit straight without increases or decreases.
Finally, stitches are decreased around the center panel until the scarf is finished.
