Jolie Fleur is knit in completely seamless construction!
The body is knit in the round from the bottom up, the sleeves are joined to the body at the underarm and are worked using the seamless Simultaneous Set-In Sleeve construction. The set-in sleeves are worked at the same time as the body; shoulder seams are joined with 3-needle bind-off.

Elizabeth Zimmerman described this technique in her “Knitting Workshop” book on page 86. Thanks to a wonderful group of 14 fabulous test knitters who stuck with me for over two months, while we perfected this technique for a great fit for all the sizes, Jolie Fleur (translated: Pretty Flower) might be one of my favorite sweaters to knit and wear.

The top features a pretty flower lace pattern that starts at the bottom and ends just below the waist. Faux side seams and waist shaping is incorporated into the body.

Instructions are included for knitting short and 3/4 lengths sleeves that also feature a smaller version of the body’s flower lace pattern.

To work the top of the sleeve caps, a simplified variation of the wrap & turn short row method is used. This method does not require that the wrap of the previously wrapped stitch to be picked up & worked in the following rows.
