Joleigh Swing
Designed to span the seasons, this easy A-line top features a central lace panel, V-neck shaping, and three-quarter length sleeves in ten adult sizes.
The yarn--Coastal by Elemental Affects--is a lightweight blend of wool, linen, and silk that produces a breathable, comfortable fabric.
The front and back are worked back and forth in rows from the garter-stitch lower edges to the sloped shoulders. After the shoulder and side seams are sewn, stitches for the sleeves are picked up around the armholes, the caps are shaped with short-rows, and the stitches are joined for working the sleeves in rounds to the garter-stitch cuffs. The neckline is simply one row of knitting followed by the Sewn Bind-Off for a minimal finish.
Instructions for the center lace panel are given in both row-by-row and charted formats.
The pattern includes ten sizes: About 35 1/2 (37, 39, 41, 43) (45, 47, 49, 51, 53)“ (90 94, 99, 104, 109 cm) bust circumference; 44 (45 1/2, 47 1/2, 49 1/2, 51 1/2) (53 1/2, 55 1/2, 57 1/2, 59 1/2, 61 1/2] cm) circumference at hem.
The ten sizes require 6 (7, 7, 8, 8) (8, 8, 9, 9, 10) skeins of yarn.
The gauge is 24.5 stitches and 36 rows/rounds = 4” (10 cm) on size U.S. 4 (3.5 mm) needles.
