Jester Waistcoat
This pretty waistcoat is knitted in one piece. This pattern is ideal in Gotland, as the fibre has a lovely drape. The main body of the garment has rib lines which give it a period “boned” look and create the shaping.
To Fit Bust:
91 (101) cm / 36 (40)“
Garment Measurements:
Bust: 96 (108) cm / 38 (43)”
Yarn:
Blacker Yarns Gotland DK (100% British Gotland Wool; 110 m / 119 yds per 50g)
Pale; 5 (6) balls
Gauge:
16 sts x 20 rows = 10 cm / 4” with larger needles in moss stitch.
Needles:
3.75 mm (US 5) - straight knitting needles
4.5 mm (US 7) - straight knitting needles
Always use needles which result in the correct size after blocking.
Notions:
stitch markers, darning needle, 5 (6) small buttons, beads (optional)
Notes:
This garment is knitted in one piece. The triangular border is worked first and then stitches are picked up to knit the main body. The waistcoat is then finished with a delicate button band.
