Shoulder-hugging capelet in 2 sizes. Small/medium in sport weight (2 oz of each of 3 colors), large,extra large in worsted (3 oz of each of 3 colors).
The capelet is started knitting back and forth in garter stitch, then , leaving a tab of garter, joined in the round and continuing in stockinette.
A round of Latvian lateral braid is knit, though this can be a purl round instead. Directions for Latvian braid are included.
The last color section is done in a simple lace pattern.
Random buttons for centers of sunflowers (a symbol of woman’s suffrage), bits of wool yarn in sunflower colors.
