January square - YEAR
The January crochet square features a textured design with cluster stitches that create a pattern resembling a wheat stalk. The raised clusters are accented by flatter single crochet stripes in BLO. Additionally, I’ve added short chain spaces to lighten the texture, creating a subtle effect of small, translucent ripples. This makes the square breathable, even though it might initially appear solid, which makes it perfect for creating summer blankets or warm-weather garments. And, like the rest of the squares in the Year collection, it can continue endlessly.
This textured square pattern includes detailed instructions in English (US terminology) for making an 11-inch square (using light worsted yarn). It can be made smaller if needed. If you’d like to continue, the pattern also includes instructions for increasing the square, which will be useful if you want to turn it into a blanket or a part of an outfit. Hint: Using chunky yarn, you can create a sweet rug for your home, as well as a lacy yarn that allows you to make a prayer shawl.
The January square design matches perfectly with the other squares in the Year collection. Check them all out to combine them together!
