Isham Road is the pattern from my first Ultimate Sweater Box. It’s an exceptionally simple and current silhouette: an oversized drop-shoulder tee. Meant to be worn oversized, this type of garment is easy to knit, wear, and makes a great early sweater project.

In the box, I paired it with absolutely the most perfect yarn for this kind of garment, Crave Yarns Caravan: A luscious, luminous blend of merino, cashmere, camel, and silk. Combined, Isham Road and Caravan make for a fluid, gorgeous piece that looks great in a wide range of fits and on a wide range of bodies.

Sizing

The body circumference before sleeve increases start is 40 (42, 44, 46, 48, 50, 52, 54, 58, 62, 66, 70)’’ / 101.5 (106.5, 112, 117, 122, 127, 132, 137, 147.5, 157.5, 167.5, 178) cm.

This tee is intended to be worn with generous sizing – but exactly how much is up to you (with my guidance if you want it, of course!) It’s shown in these pictures in sizes that range from 6 – 18” (12.5 – 46 cm) larger than the wearers’ upper torsos, with around 8” (20.5 cm) being about average.

Yarn Requirements

I strongly recommend that you use the recommended yarn for this garment to get the right look to the fabric. (If you need a non-wool option, I suggest Classic Elite Firefly.)

Samples are shown in “Savoy” (green), “Franklin” (gray), “Realm” (teal), “Authenticity” (natural), and “Ella’s Note” (burgundy). Sizes use 3 (3, 4, 4, 4, 4, 4, 4, 5, 5, 6, 6) hanks.

Construction

Isham Road is worked in two pieces from the bottom up and then seamed.
