iNter-Being Cowl
For anything to exist, you, me, the yarn we work with now, it relies on a whole chain of existence. For us to spin yarn, we need the sheep who grew the wool, the sun that grew the grass that fed the sheep, the farmers who tended the sheep, the wool workers who processed and dyed the wool; we need our wheels or spindles and the creators of those tools; we need our teachers who have taught us this skill; we need the energy to place into each ply that comes from the nourishment we have taken in; and to make this cowl, we need the designer and everyone who makes PLY Magazine possible.
Nothing comes into being by itself – it has to inter-be with everything else. We are not separate; we are all links in a chain; we need each other to be.
While you create this cowl, knitting each chain and linking them together to form a whole, meditate on all that brought you to this moment, see your life unfolding as a chain of events that has placed you into this beautiful practice, giving thanks and gratitude for all that is, knowing that you are part of that chain of existence and that you are also needed for all things to exist.
