Insular Cowl
The design on this cowl is inspired by the style of art known as Insular, or Hiberno-Saxon. Knotwork decoration is a major feature of this style, and it has terrific visual interest when knitted up using the mosaic technique. The technique itself requires only very basic knitting skills - mosaic knitting makes colorwork easy! The garter stitch construction makes the cowl thicker and squishier than stockinette stitch, great for a cold day.
