Infant Pixie Hat 303
This pattern is no longer available
The use of front-post and back-post half-double crochet stitches gives this hat its rich textured look. The flower & trim can just as easily be made from non-fuzzy yarn if you prefer.
The pattern uses the following stitches: chain, slip stitch, single crochet, half-double crochet as well as front-post and back-post half double crochet & front-post and back-post double crochet.
If you are not familiar with front- and back-post stitches, I would recommend you practice them before using this pattern. They are not overly difficult, but to work them effectively you need to use a relaxed tension so they will not bunch up. Practice helps!
Note: The different sizes are achieved by using smaller or larger hooks. See below for recommended hooks. Feel free to use whatever size hook gives you the recommended gauge.
NB – 3 months: Crochet hook US H8/5.0mm
3 – 6 months: Crochet hook US I9/5.50mm
6-12 months: Crochet hook US J10/6.0mm
