Hyzenthlay Rabbit Ears Beanie (Crochet)
This super-simple hat is perfect for spring. Work one up to go in a special Easter basket or if you have a trek planned to Watership Down… just make sure you stay clear of Efrafa!
Sizes: Newborn (Baby, Toddler, Child, Average Adult, Large Adult) to fit a head circumference of about 13” (14”, 16”, 18”, 21”, 23”)/33 (35.5, 40.5, 45.5, 53, 58.5) cm. This design utilizes 1” – 2”/2.5 – 5 cm of negative ease.
Yarn: 80 (90, 100, 110, 125, 145) yards/75 (80, 90, 100, 115, 130) meters of bulky weight yarn, plus scrap yarns of various weights and colors for the flower, horns, and leaves. Sample shown in Baby Alpaca Grande colorway Mushroom.
Hooks: Size US L/8 mm (or size needed to obtain gauge), size US K/6.5 mm, plus hooks in the appropriate size for each scrap. Approximately sizes US H/5 mm - US F/3.75 mm, or as recommended on the yarn label.
Gauge: 10 stitches x 8 rows = 4”/10 cm in half-double crochet on largest-size hook. The fabric should be nice and loose, not too tight so it has stretch for a comfortable fit.

Techniques: Magic Loop and crocheting in joined rounds using basic US terminology.
