If you’re a knitter looking for a speedy way to work with some beautiful laceweight yarn, or even a knitter new to laceweight or lace patterns, this cowl is just the accessory to add to your spring or fall wardrobe.

Another familiar haunt in the city of Peterborough, Hunter Street runs through the downtown core and across the river into the ‘East City’, offering busy streetcorners during the day, and a café and pub scene well into the evening. More than a few hip knitters have been known to gather on Hunter Street throughout the year!

Worked in the round, this long and lofty cowl is easily worn ‘single’, as a long scarf, or ‘double’, looped around the neck for comfort and easy style. Knit it to your choice of depth, for a light accessory any time you need just a little bit of something extra! Uses one skein of Tanis Fiber Arts Pink Label laceweight, or your preferred plied wool laceweight yarn.

MATERIALS
• Tanis Fiber Arts Pink Label laceweight 100% Superwash Merino Wool, 914m/1000yds per 115g/4oz skein, 1 skein (sample shown in ‘Dove’)
• 3.5mm 24” circular needle (OR needle size required to obtain pattern gauge)
• 3.25mm 24” circular needle (OR one needle size smaller than that required to obtain pattern gauge)
• Stitch markers
• Tapestry needle

Tanis Fiber Arts Pink Label laceweight has very generous yardage; The 8” deep sample shown used approximately 60% of one skein.

SIZING
Finished cowl measures approximately 54 ins in circumference;

Depth of cowl is indicated as 8”, but this is easily modifiable to be larger according to preference

GAUGE
20 sts/36 rounds in stockinette stitch on 3.5mm needles (OR needle size required to obtain gauge), after wet blocking and drying

For reference: On sample shown, one repeat of the chart measured 4.5 ins wide, after washing and blocking.
