How to Teach Beginning Knitting
This is a pattern for a simple hat that comes with a jam-packed 8-page teaching module. This module details how to prepare for and teach a three-session beginning knitting class. Please note that this document is NOT designed to teach you how to knit.
The Tietze Hat pattern that comes with this teaching module can now be purchased on its own as well.
______________________
Teaching a knitting class requires serious work. My teaching modules remove a lot of the stress and preparation and allow you to enjoy your class more.
The PDF includes:
- eight pages of detailed and innovative instructions on how to prepare for and teach a beginning knitting class, including what materials and facilities you will need, how to prepare for the class, a step-by-step schedule of what to do in class, how to handle difficult situations in the classroom, and questions to ask yourself as a teacher
- a pattern for a simple, stylish hat that you can distribute as a class project for your students
- full pattern and teaching support from the designer
I bring a wealth of experience to these modules: a knitter for the past 25 years, I have taught dozens of knitting classes, from beginning to advanced, in a variety of venues. I have also been a college professor for 12 years, and have thought a great deal about what works in the classroom.

We love the tutorials… And soooo much better than teaching a basic scarf. — Alix of Threads & More, a shop in Indooroopilly, Queensland, Australia
