How to Knit Basic Socks for Charity

This pattern is intended specifically as a “teaching pattern” for new knitters. I wrote it to introduce sock knitting to members of the AT&T Fiber to the World Yarn club, many of whom are brand new to knitting and have no background in other crafts. It contains very detailed, plain English instructions for making a basic pair of socks to fit a 6-8 year old.
If you are already comfortable making socks, this pattern is probably not for you. But I hope you’ll use it to share the fun of sock knitting with someone you know.
