Boots are both knit and crochet; the top edge is knit, and the leg and foot are crocheted in colorwork. Boots require fleece-lined suede soles.

Pattern calls for one 4-oz skein each of five colors, but says that leftovers in smaller amounts can be used; the 1000 yard estimate above is probably high.
