Hooded Scarf with Shaped Crown
From the Knit Picks Website:
Ultimately practical, a scarf with hood attached for those particularly blustery days (or if you’re prone to misplacing things…).
Yarn:
Knit Picks Twirl discontinued
(69% Superfine Alpaca, 28% Wool, 3% Nylon; 73 yds/100 gm ball): Plum 23681, 3 balls
Needles
Size 11 (8.0 mm): 16” circular or DPN for hood section, 24” circular for scarf section
Cabled cast on recommended. Scarf is worked flat from the long edge; crown section is worked in the round.
From the pattern:
You will need to use garter or seed stitch on the scarf section to keep the edges from curling. If you use a textured yarn like Twirl, garter stitch will work well. With a simple yarn, a seed stitch, alternating knits and purls horizontally and vertically, will provide a nice pattern.
