Designing, knitting and photographing the Holy Family was kind of special for me. I hope that you will have as much joy while knitting as I had, and Mary, Joseph and Baby Jesus will bring the wonder of Christmas to your home. But the knitted family is not only decorative – children will love to play with the soft dolls and care for the Christ Child lovingly.

The detailed pattern is suitable for knitters with a bit of experience. Techniques are explained in the appendix, and you get a shipload of tips and detail photos.
Partly knitted flat, partly in the round!
A good gauge for the yarn mentioned above would be
27 stitches times 38 rows = 10 times 10 cm = 4 times 4 inches

Of course you can use any yarn you want (or you have left over). With the gauge shown above the Holy Family measures approximately:
Jesus: length 15 cm = 6 inches
Mary: height 23 cm = 9 inches
Joseph: hight 26 cm = 10 inches

Sie können jede beliebige Wolle verwenden. Eine gute Maschenprobe für Lana Grossa Cool Wool Superfein wäre

Maria: Höhe ca. 23 cm
