Hit the Slopes
Hit the slopes is a comfortable, warm hat designed for cold morning walks and sliding down the ski slopes. With a relaxed fit and long folded cuff, it will be sure to keep you cozy. Sized for both children and adults, choose to add a pompom or not, this hat will become a winter staple.
Yarn: 1 skein each color, Brooklyn Tweed Loft, 275 yards/250 meters, shown in Long Johns, Cast Iron and Fossil.
Gauge: 17 stitches and 28 rows over 4” in stockinette stitch on a US #8/5mm
Sizes: Child - 16-18” head circumference
Adult - 21-24” head circumference
Finished Measurements: Child - 18” circumference, 7.5” tall with brim folded back. Adult - 24” circumference, 9” tall with brim folded back.
Needles: US #6/4mm 16 (24)” circular needle
US #7/4.5mm 16 (24)” circular needle
US #8/5mm 16 (24)” circular needle and double points or 40” circular needles
US #9/5.5mm 16 (24)” circular needle
Additional Materials: Stitch markers, tapestry needle
