To adjust for a longer or shorter foot, work more or fewer rounds before beginning the toe decreases.
For a larger foot circumference, use larger needles for the foot and work the socks at a gauge of 14 stitches per 2” (5 cm) to produce a foot circumference about 8” (20.5 cm) with the rib relaxed.
If making larger or longer socks, you may need to purchase extra yarn. The socks shown used 90 grams of the suggested yarn.
The first stitch of each k3 rib panel is knitted through the back loop to create a crisp boundary between the purl and knit stitches.
For the cuff cables, one stitch is increased in each cable in the first crossing round (cable inc rnd), then one stitch is decreased in each cable in the last crossing round (cable dec rnd).
Mirrored cable “clocks” are worked along each side of the leg; these cables split at the start of the heel so that one half continues along the side of the heel flap and the other half continues along the instep.
