We knitters all have occasions when our feet need just a “little something more”; Times when a simple sock just won’t do. Demand the royal treatment a skilled sock knitter deserves and treat yourself with an intricate pair of socks. This pattern will make sure your feet know they’re heading out in style! These are worked cuff down on either DPNs or Magic Loop method.
MATERIALS
• Lorna’s Laces ‘Solemate’ 55% superwash merino wool/15% nylon/30% Outlast; 425 yds per 100g skein (sample shown in ‘Buckingham Fountain’)
• 2.5mm needles (either set of 4double-pointed needles, or long 32-40” circular for Magic Loop)
• tapestry needle
• stitch markers, if desired
• cable needle, unless using cabling-without-a-cable-needle method
SIZING
• S(L)
• To fit foot/ankle circumference of 7.5-8.5(8.75-10.0) ins around.
GAUGE
• 34 sts and 46 rounds over 4 ins/10 cm, in stockinette stitch on 2.5mm needles (OR on needle size required to obtain gauge)
SKILLS
To execute this pattern, knitters will be required to:
• Work knit and purl
• Work in the round
• Work small cables
• Work twisted sts (ktbl)
• Work increases and decreases
• Pick up stitches
• Follow charted stitch patterns
• Work a turned heel and heel flap
