Henry the Raven joined the menagerie flock in 2015 with the release of the first edition of Edward’s Menagerie: Birds by Kerry Lord. Known for their intelligence, ravens have some incredible (if unsettling) abilities that include being able to mimic human voices, remember faces and other characteristics, and hold grudges. Powerful symbols in lore, these magnificent birds are often associated with bad omens and feature in almost every culture.

TOFT’s Edward’s Menagerie collection is a series of crochet amigurumi toys designed by Kerry Lord. This crochet bird kit contains TOFT’s quality pure wool yarn and an easy-to-follow downloadable pattern. There are video links for all the crochet stitches and techniques used in the pattern to get you started and help you complete your toy. Share your progress with the TOFT community on Instagram @toft_uk using the #edsanimals hashtag.

YOU WILL NEED: To complete your crochet bird you will need a few added extras including a 3mm crochet hook, toy stuffing and a wool needle. Find everything you need in our haberdashery section or upgrade to a complete kit which includes all of the above!

MEASUREMENTS: When finished your Raven will be approximately 22cm tall from feet to top of head.

SKILL LEVEL 2: This kit is suitable for enthusiastic beginners or those who have crocheted before.

IT WILL TAKE: Approximately 1-5 hours crochet time.
