The inspiration for Hellebora comes from the winter-blooming Helleborus plant, also known as Lenten Rose, which represents peace, serenity, and tranquility in modern traditions of flower symbolism. Evocative of falling snow, the body of the shawl combines geometric lines with a simple eyelet pattern, which creates unique texture with interest on both sides.

The shawl is edged in a deep border using a more elaborate lace pattern reminiscent of multitudes of flower petals. Knitted in one piece starting at the center of the top edge without garter tab, the shawl is shaped into a practical elongated triangle using double increases at the center and along both edges. All the charts in this pattern are also fully written out line-by-line. Thanks to the simple stitches and the interesting combination of colors, Hellebora is a fun and quick-to-knit project, perfect for last-minute gift knitting.
