Heartstring
This design is part of my book New Ways with Crochet.
The book explores fresh stitch ideas and ways to adapt and combine them for projects of all kinds, from garments to blankets.
It is divided into five themed chapters:
- Small stitches and gentle textures
- New ways to play with double crochet
- A fresh look at working into the back loop
- An innovative technique for textured crochet
- And my signature crochet cables
Each chapter ends with a shawl that shows the stitches in use. The Heartstring shawl comes from Chapter 4: an innovative technique for textured crochet.
CONSTRUCTION
The Heartstring shawl starts at one side corner and grows toward the center (bottom corner). The decreases are then worked to shape the shawl to its opposite corner.
Its repetitive stitch pattern makes it easy to follow and adjust: continue in the stitch pattern until you reach your desired depth and half the size, then transition to the decreases.
